School Day

School Hours

Infants (Reception – Year 2) 8.45am – 3.15pm
Juniors (Year 3 – Year 6) 8.45am – 3.15pm

Total time in a typical week - 32.5 hours

The pedestrian gates and School Office open at 8.35am. Children should not enter school premises until this time unless attending Breakfast Club.

Teachers welcome children into class from 8.35am to allow for a gradual and settled start to the school day. Early morning activities are planned or children can read or respond to marking comments (age appropriate).

The school bell rings at 8.45am to signal the start of the school day.

Morning Break

This is at 10.30am for the whole school. A fruit/veg snack is provided for children in Reception and KS1. Older children are welcome to bring in a healthy, NUT-FREE, snack to see them through to lunchtime. We encourage all children to bring in a named water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Lunchtime

Your child can either have a school dinner or bring a packed lunch. Menus are varied and include a vegetarian choice. The price of a school lunch is £2.60 per day which must be paid online. To do this you will need to be registered by using the details provided by letter from the school and log on to the following page http://www.scopay.com/stjames-weybridge.

Confidential advice is available at the School concerning free school meals for low-income families.

End of the School Day

The school day finishes at 3.15pm.

There are a number of clubs running throughout the school year (see Clubs section) and children may attend those held after school. We ask them to take all of their belongings with them to avoid returning to classrooms or cloakrooms unsupervised.

The school gates are locked at 3.20pm.
